Business and Human Rights (B+HR) is a global initiative part of UNDP’s Global Programmeon Rule of Law Security and Human Rights (Phase IV). It aims at supporting the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) as a means to address business-related risks and adverse impacts through interventions at global, regional and country level.
As a part of a wider effort to reduce its risk profile and address systemic rights abuses in some value chains, Indonesiahas embarked on work to develop a NationalStrategy on Businessand Human Rights (NS-BHR). Currently, this important policy document, aligned with the UNGPs, is being developed under the guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights with key ministries, civil society organizations (CSOs) and business associations formed as the Task Force to further finalize and implement the National Strategy.
The B+HR program also produces guidance to companies as they address COVID-19 related human rights risks in their supply chains. Several trainings for Indonesian business on human rights due diligence and COVID-19 have already been conducted, with significant levelsof interest. Under the overall guidance of the Business and Human Rights Specialist, the Project Assistant for B+HR provides an effective project support services ensuring high quality of work, ensures accurate monitoring and evaluation data, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery within the management and operations (finance, assets management, administration, procurement, human resources/HR) of the B+HR projects at national level,and implementation of project activities in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations, and awareness-raising, capacity building and advocacy activities in national and subnational level.
Support the project team to ensure effective project planning, budgeting and implementation focusing on achievement of the following results
- Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific project and related topics or issues.
- Reviews project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rulesand procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval.
- Implement project standard operating procedures in line with the government and UNDP’s regulations.
Support to the effective reporting on progress of project implementation
- Support to the preparation of annual and quarterly work plans as well as project board meetings, audit, operational and financial closure of a project.
- Support to the preparation of quarterly project reports, in line with the monitoring and reporting guidelines and presents it to the project assurance team on a timely manner.
To provide administrative support for preparation of results oriented progress reports.
Provide administrative support to the Project Management Unit focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Support the collaboration of project team to design and conduct internal evaluation, and survey, be part of its implementation which include facilitating participatory evaluation with key stakeholders, assist in the analysis process and completion of the project.
- Assist and support B+HR Projects in advising the project team based on the research results for enhancing the project effectiveness as well as provide technical advice and support.
- Assist and support B+HR Projects in developing progress and annual report to Donors and UNDP.
- Assist and support B+HR Projects in updating progress of output, activities, and risk in Quantum System.
Provides communications supportto the Project Management unit focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Provide support to B+HR Projectsand work closelywith Communications Unit to developand compliance of functionspecific documentation (e.g., drafting and editing social media posts, Individuals bi-annual newsletter, publication copies, digital, and hard-copy appeals, articles etc.), as required.
- Assist B+HR Projects in preparing project events related with promotional, advocacy and awareness raising materials, including to collectand compile significant information and evident from project implementation processes and results as main sources for developing communication materials.
- Support in updating database of B+HR Projects with relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the project. Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materialsand share results and findings.
- Provide support to conduct media tracking, to collect and cluster news and/or articlesrelated to the project to supplement the project report.
- Support to review project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval.
- Conceive and draft of files, graphics, and/or illustrations for visual media, including web, social media, and print
Support strategic partnerships, communication and supportto the implementation of resource mobilization
- Support in updating database of the relevant public and development partners private sector, civil society and other stakeholders who are counterparts for the project.
- In coordination with UNDP’s Communication unit and other relevant counterpart communications department, support documentation of the project activities as a tool to communicate results, deepenstakeholder knowledge and buy-in to the project,and resource mobilization for the project.
- Effective contribution and support of with data collection for gender analysis and gender mainstreaming at project level

Under the overall guidance of the Business and Human Rights Specialist for B+HR Projects, the Project Assistant provides project support services ensuring high quality of work, ensures accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery.
