Mission and objectives

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and reports to the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board.

Context

The UNV Field Units (FU) in Ukraine is mainly accountable for the mobilization and placement of UN Volunteers in UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes focused on emergency response to the war in Ukraine, development and humanitarian needs. The Field Unit represents and positions UNV in Ukraine and brings UNV’s services and solutions closer to its partners from UN entities, governments, civil society, and private sector.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the Country Coordinator, the UN Youth Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Social Media Management: •Support the maintenance of UNV Ukraine’ media channels, including but not limited to the social media and job portals, to increase the outreach and support mobilization, enhancing the coverage of UNV’s activities and advocacies, ensuring consistency with corporate messages. •Increase visibility and raise awareness of UNV Programme in Ukrainian social media channels via adaptation of UNV Programme campaigns and messages to the Ukrainian language, prepare various engaging and educational content. •Monitor online and social media and report on social media analytics to evaluate content engagement for improvement of the UNV’s content materials. •Support the outreach for talents search and targeted outreach campaigns to attract relevant candidates. Visibility: • Support the FU in development and creation of digital communication materials such as job portals and social media postings, articles, factsheets, flyers, brochures, and other communication materials to enhance coverage and support the UNV’s activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messaging and standards. • Assist in administrative matters upon a need.
