Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief Security Adviser (CSA), the Local Security Assistant assists in the implementation of security operations and all matters relating to the management of safety and security for UN personnel in Indonesia.
This position is not funded by UNDSS but through the locally cost shared budget. The contract may be extended subject to availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need for the post "

Summary of key functions:
|
|
1. Assists the CSA in collecting, updating and communicating information regarding the security situation in the country:
|
|
2. Assists in maintaining the Security Plan, including updating staff lists:
|
|
3. Assists the CSA in monitoring compliance with Residential Security Measures (RSM) established for the duty station. Also assists with the compilation of data required for the SRM at the duty station and the program assessment.
|
|
4. Assists in reporting security incidents affecting UN staff, offices and assets, and assists in the preparation of security reports, such as the Security Incident Report, the Security Assessments and the Quarterly Incident Report. |
|
5. Provides support in organizing and conducting training courses on security awareness and preparedness, and providing security orientation to newly assigned staff members. Conducts security briefings, as required.

6. Assists the CSA in ensuring the security arrangements at UN offices located in Menara Thamrin Building.

7. Performs other security-related tasks assigned by the CSA

8. Provides general administrative assistance to the CSA

Education: |
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, , Management, Security Management, International Relations, Social Sciences would be preferable. Or • High school degree with 5 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Bachelor degree |

Experience: |
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for candidate with High school or minimum of 2 years of experience for candidate with Bachelor Degree; preferably in the field of development. |

Language Requirements: |
Fluency in the English and Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) |
