Functional Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Ensure full coordination of long-term and short-term experts engaged in support of the peace negotiations.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise all written outputs related to the project.
- Develop and provide expert advice
- Support coordination of project implementation with stakeholders, providing advice on the development and mobilization of resources and partnership building with international, regional, and local institutions and agencies working in related fields.
- Support OSESGY in managing strategic relations through liaising with individuals and institutions including government officials, UN agencies, international organizations, civil society, media, the private sector, and private foundations, in coordination with UNOPS and under the supervision of the management of OSESGY.
- Identify and nurture key strategic alliances as well as identify opportunities to attract or leverage resources.
- Ensuring the coordination of the work of consultants/experts recruited through the project and facilitating and monitoring their engagement within the project.
- Develop initial/draft TORs for consultants that would be utilised to deliver the consultancies envisaged;
- Develop initial/draft funding proposals and budgets;
- Work with the project manager to monitor project funds, ensuring the funds are used for the proper purposes, proper activities and with the efficiency and transparency.
- Organize monthly team meetings to review and plan project activities
- Lead the preparations for the project review and/or evaluation meetings; following up on the implementation of the project board decisions and recommendations.
- Contribute to the advocacy process for the project in line with the OSESGY and UNOPS-related policies, norms, and standards around related key issues, as well as sharing best practices in the region.
- Coordinate with the project partners on key activities for their active engagement and continuous feedback.
- Provision of technical and advisory support to the related processes that influence the implementation of the activities;
- Prepare work plans, monthly and quarterly progress reports; and ad-hoc reports if required by the donors
- Perform other related duties as required

- Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent degree) preferably in public/business administration, international relations, information technology, or related fields.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience :
- A minimum of 7 years in project management, administration, or related area is required, including a minimum of 3 years of experience working on accountability/ethical frameworks.
- Experience within the UN system or a comparable international organization is desirable.
- Experience working in the Middle East is desirable.
Languages :
- English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the position advertised, English is required.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
