Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support and supervise in organizing activities in SHLS.
  •  Attendance sheets, headcount sheets and any required SHLS reporting is followed up and complete timely.
  •  of period updates and inputs for donor reporting that is put in place.
  •  Timely and sound implementation of SHLS activities in relevant sites.
  • Ensure that attendance and participation of children in SHLS is supported, motivated.
  •  Technical support, supervision and guidance to the SHLS facilitator on safe, emotional and learning curriculums.
  • Contribute to preparing sound work-plans for SHLS facilitators.
  • Monitor that SHLS is well maintained, friendly to children and according to child safeguarding standards and SHLS protection criteria.
  • Monitor and analyse trends, gaps, and patterns regarding child protection concern.
  • Identify new needs and support creation of new and/extra curriculum activities.
  • Continuously monitor the provision of SHLS service on the site and report on findings, to ensure child protection considerations are mainstreamed across all sectors.
  • Regularly review and adapt SHLS activities according to needs; identify vulnerable children and facilitate appropriate action, including referrals to specialized services.
  • Report on child protection issue for child protection case management reports.
  • Ensure the observance of the IRC Code of Conduct throughout activity implementation.
  • Ensure that SHLS facilitator adhere to general protection and child protection best-practices and professional standards and principles through capacity-building and on-the-job support.
  • Document case studies, best practices and lessons learned from each of the activities implemented.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Child Protection SHLS Officer, relevant to the achievement of SHLS and child protection objectives.
