Context

The IUNV will support SRH, adolescent and youth program monitoring, data collection, documentation, and communication around results. The programme officer plays a key role for donor report and linkage between Japan Government and country office.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • The UNV Programme officer will support the monitoring of UNFPA maternal, SRH and adolescents and youth programme implemented in collaboration with Implementing partners including preparation and data collection process of various monitoring and evaluation exercises under clear guidance from the direct supervisor; • Strengthen, create and document knowledge about current and emerging trends in Adolescent Health, by analyzing programmes, projects, strategies, approaches and ongoing experience of lessons learnt and best practices and share with colleagues and external partners; • The UNV programme officer will support, the documentation and communication around results from UNFPA maternal, SRH and adolescent and youth programme including collaboration with communication teams to development SRH, adolescent and youth human stories and best practices; • Support the office in maintaining and fostering partnerships around maternal health, SRHR, including Family Planning, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health including resources mobilization and produce timely donor report; • Strengthen collaboration with JICA through engagement in JICA Technical Cooperation Project and other available platforms; • Support adolescent and youth unit to strengthen programme innovation and financing including engagement of private sector to ensure adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health are expanded and reach adolescent and youth services at all levels; • Ensure programme interventions around A&Y are informed by available evidence and the UNFPA Strategic Plan; • Provide the ongoing CPD evaluation process and ensure adolescent and youth component is well streamlined in the new Country Programme Document; • Report to supervisor any possible/ potential constraints to program implementation and recommend solutions to overcome such obstacles; • Perform other duties as and when required by UNFPA Representative/Deputy UNFPA representative / direct supervisor. • Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day). • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country. • Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities. • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc. • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers. • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
