The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Analyst to support our Legal Team in Lima, Peru. The Office of Legal Affairs provides legal advisory services and ensures effective management of legal and contractual risks by providing such advice and assistance to the Area leaders of research and operations in HQ and regions.

About the role:
The successful candidate will provide analytical legal support to the operational plans/ projects to contribute with the Unit ́s goals. The Legal Analyst will report to the Legal Manager and will be based in Lima, Peru.

Key responsibilities:
Support first level analysis of legal documents to guarantee the results are accurate and complete.

Drafting of contracts, endorsements, non-disclosure agreements, and legal letters based on pre-existing models.

Implementation and management of the signing of various documents/contracts, ensuring their follow-up and filing in the electronic and physical file.

Creation and updating of monitoring tables (management of deadlines, obtaining signatures) and
centralization of legal documents (filing, archiving).

Prepare documentation according to methodology established by the organization.

Analysis and coordination of ad hoc or recurring requests from various internal and external stakeholders (operational units, research units, service providers and partners, public or private institutions).

Obtain information from various sources in order to perform different analysis according to business unit.

Comply with national and international laws, regulations and standards


Requirements

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in law.
Specialization in contracts law (desired)

At least 3 years of professional experience in similar position.

Advanced level of MS Office, preferably in Excel.

Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.

Excellent accountability knowledge, teamwork and integrity skills.

Analytical thinking, planning & organization, communication, and customer service competences.
