Job title: Project Officer - Education

Department: Programme Implementation

Based in location : Delhi, extensive travel to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand.

Reporting to: Chief of Party & Program Head

Contract Duration : 1 year Travel: 70% in the field

Level Of Contact With Children: 2 (Sporadic or occasional contact with children)

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Safeguarding of Children and Young People Policy & Gender Equality Policies.

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

This position is responsible for the implementation of Education Projects, which includes the implementation of project activities as per guidance of Program Head, Hygiene and Education Program (Reckitt), rolling out field level activities, networking and linkages with key stakeholders, government departments and PRIs/ward at local level, achievement of project outputs and outcomes within the timelines defined in the project plan and submission of timely reports of the activities and monthly progress updates to Program Head.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The job holder will be responsible for implementation of project under the thematic area Hygiene and Education in close coordination with Program Head, Hygiene and Education Program (Reckitt)
• Field visits to Implementation areas of project activities such as awareness/orientation/training of parents, school teachers, child cabinet members and other stakeholders in target locations
• Collect evidences and data with regard to program implementation activities in the program areas.
• Create and update database of schemes/services of the government in Education theme
• Write blogs, case stories, stakeholder and community engagement, of government schemes/services, documentation of case studies and best practices
• Preparation and submission of visit reports as per stipulated timelines
• Provide any other support required by the line manager and as per the requirements of the organisation
• Support Chief of Party and Program Head in any other engagements assigned
• Adherence to all Plan India’s Policies during program implementation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Any Post Graduate, Post Graduate in Development Management will be preferred.
• Fresher/ Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience of working in Education.
• Proficient in local language and willingness to travel
• Experience in usage of computer/tablets for data collection and basic report preparation
• Passionate to work with children and Education.
