Org. Setting and Reporting

The incumbent is responsible to the Microfinance Department (MD) Field Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
1- Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions;
2- Maintains updated and accurate accounting records and controls the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers of the Microfinance Department (MD);
3- Verifies and ensures accurate records of all financial transactions at field level;
4- Verifies the cashiering records and functions of all Field Offices’ branch and sub-branch offices;
5- Raises monthly bank reconciliation in the MD’s bank accounts for proper authorization;
6- Drafts correspondence and other routine reports related to his/her functions;
7- Raises acquisition of fixed asset transactions for proper authorization;
8- Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Competencies

1- Communication and interpersonal skills;
2- Problem solving skills;
3- Excellent knowledge in using MS applications, in particular Excel;
4- Proficiency in accounting and management of accounts.

Education

1- University degree in accountancy, business administration or finance.
2- Ability to operate standard computer software used by the Agency including spreadsheets and database applications

Work Experience

Two years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, and accounting control and reconciliation experience in a computerized working environment is required
