About the Role

SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working in the development sector with focus on providing access to sustainable energy and livelihoods for last mile communities in Mizoram. The broader goal is to use decentralized renewable energy to facilitate dignified living, increased incomes, reduced drudgery and improved work productivity through the integration of climate inclusive technologies into livelihood practices for the underserved communities in Mizoram.

The Field coordinator is expected to coordinate, consolidate and ensure smooth implementation of projects on ground in order to provide access to sustainable energy driven technologies to enhance essential services under livelihoods. Understanding of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) and its integration within productive use technologies will be primary while catering to the underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting site surveys in order to identify the technology need and demand of end users in Mizoram. Training on site survey, field execution, implementation of projects considering the geography, terrain, accessibility etc in Mizoram.
• Facilitating, coordinating and supervising end to end implementation of projects on the ground.
• Designing and recommending solar powered systems and providing the techno commercial feasibility study based on the site surveys.
• Supervising and supporting the ground team as well as acting as a main liaison point between the field staff and offices.
• Supervising troubleshooting activities on the technical issues across all projects.
• Providing field-level coordination for the technology solution implementation of pilot projects designed under the various programs in Mizoram.
• Understanding the local communities in Mizoram, developing a rapport and building trust with end-users on ground for smooth implementations and wider uptake.
• Organizing training and workshops for end users and stakeholders for pre and post implementation capacity creation.
• Supervising data collection, monitoring on ground project activities and preparing timely and accurate Project Progress Reports in consultation with the project teams.
• Liaising with local Mizoram authorities and stakeholders as needed to facilitate achievement of project objectives.
• Coordinating project resources (workforce, time and other inputs) as planned and maintaining periodic interactions with the project team to realize the activities.
• Using the allocated budget properly for the project implementations and proposing revision in the project budget and action plan based on field conditions if necessary.
• Mobilizing the necessary work force on ground to ensure that all project implementations are achieved at high quality.
• Regularly assessing field staff performance, needs and gaps during project implementations and facilitating corrective measures as required.
• Ensuring organizational, implementation processes and guidelines are adhered to and escalating in cases where required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 to 4 years of work experience in the development sector especially having the know-how of working on the field with different types of entities.
• Based out of Mizoram or experience working in Mizoram with good understanding about grassroots communities, languages, livelihood practices etc. will be preferred.
• Interest in solar energy DRE driven technologies and project implementations aimed at improving energy reliability and quality of life for underserved communities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Willingness to learn, grow and develop at personal and professional front, at a rapid pace with a steep learning curve.
• Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the State as and when required.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or above
