Position: Logistics Supervisor

PURPOSE OF POST:
Supervising and performing autonomously the daily logistics and supply activities and ensure maintenance of all DWBI equipment and infrastructures (offices, health structures, warehouses, etc.,), according to DWBI standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINES

Hierarchically accountable to Project Coordinator.
Functionally accountable to Logistics Coordinators (Technical & Supply).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to DWBI standards
• Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager's supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor's instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices
• Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to DWBI standards
• Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person's task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities
• Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to DWBI standards and Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
• Managing and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force; providing technical support to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to DWBI supply procedures and ensures reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment.

CONTEXT SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Active collaboration with Medical team and leading the Monthly TSR meeting with Medical team.
• Supervise Logistics and Supply Team by making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work and in Supply needs in DWBI project and assisting logistics department with any urgent support / advice.
• Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepares needed reports before and after any repair, required maintenance and Supply activity.
• Assist to the project coordinator day to day security follow-up and reporting to manage local security management according to Project Coordinator’s Instruction and to design, yearly update of Local Security Policy.
• Ensure Safety and security of the staff and DWBI‘s property in the project and comply with policy and protocols.
• Ensuring all electrical installations Fire safety in DWBI premises are comply with DWBI standards.
• Perform autonomously and ensuring maintenance and repairs according to policy and supervisor’s instructions.
• Managing and validating Medical and Logistics orders and stock, responsible to carry out and updating inventory in the project facilities.
• Performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project with the support of the Base Facility Officer and Project Supply Officer.
• Identifying local technical actors for maintenance and repair activities and organizing their participation in the Project.
• Support local technical staff’s capacity building by providing / recomonding on Job training.
• Produce monthly reports according to guidelines (Project ) and provide feedback to the team when required.

REQUIREMENTS
-- Education: Essential: Secondary education and formal technical training

-- Experience: Essential: At least one year in DWBI or 2 years in a similar post out of DWBI.

-- Languages: Mission language and local language essential

-- Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
