Org. Setting and Reporting
The position is located in the Office of the Secretary General (OSG). The Secretary General, with the support of the Office of the Secretary General, provides leadership and general direction to the work of the staff working in the ICAO Secretariat. The Secretariat consists of the Office of the Secretary General, five Bureaus, seven Regional Offices, the Finance Branch, the Office of Internal Oversight, and the Ethics Office. The OSG is responsible for the general direction of the work of the ICAO Secretariat and its efficient and effective management of. The OSG promotes a change management culture with the objective of modernizing the working methods of the Organization. OSG is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Organization’s Business Plan, and ensuring the efficient, transparent, and effective use of resources of the Organization. A key component of the current Business Plan is the Transformational Objective which encompasses a number of strategic organization reforms, business change and transformation with the goal to transform ICAO into a modern, digital, adaptive and collaborative organization demonstrating operational excellence. The incumbent reports directly to the Programme Coordinator, Transformation Team, OSG, with whom he/she consults on a regular basis. Members of the Transformation Team and the Office of the Secretary General may also provide direct input and guidance to the work of the intern.
Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator, Transformation Team, OSG, the intern will: • Support the Transformation Team in the overall preparation of senior-level management meetings, including through supporting the preparation of documentation and presentations; • Support the preparation of background and reference documentation, presentations, minutes and actions, for meetings, including Transformational Objective governance meetings and engagement sessions; • Assist in the preparation of correspondences, speeches and talking points, and support the preparation of presentations and other material for the Chief Transformation Officer and the Secretary General; • Support the tracking of decisions and instructions as well as assist in monitoring their implementation; • Assist the Transformation Team in the development of management tools such as dashboards and tracking tools, as may be required ; • Assist the Transformation Team in change management and communication planning and implementation, as may be required; • Supports process (re) engineering, mapping and documentation as may be required; • Assist with the Transformation Team operating rhythm, including scheduling meetings and management of the Transformation calendar and email inbox; and • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education
At the time of application, candidates are required to have completed or be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (second-level university degree or higher). Applicants pursuing studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, should have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree.

Work Experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential; Power BI and Project is desirable. • Practical experience in using lcollaborative documentation processing tools or work management platforms is desirable • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. • Knowledge of ICAO and its mandate, the aviation sector or the United Nations system is desirable.
Languages
Essential requirements: Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English. Desirable requirements: A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
Interns are not paid. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern. The duration of the internship is between six to twelve months. The intern is expected to work five days a week, on a full-time basis. Interns shall not be eligible to be engaged in any other form of employment within ICAO during the period of internship and shall not be eligible to apply for or be appointed to any post in the Secretariat or be contracted for any other remunerated employment with ICAO for the six months immediately following the end of their internship.
