PMEAL Advisor
Location: London
Contract type: up to 12 months Fixed Term (maternity cover)
Hours per week: 35 (typically Mon – Fri)
Salary: up to £40,841 dependent on experience (plus London Weighting of £3,344, if applicable) per annum
Are you a French speaking professional, passionate about humanitarian causes and using your PMEAL (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) and CEA (Community, Engagement, Accountability) skills to positively impact the lives of disaster-affected people? This might be a great opportunity for you.
The British Red Cross are recruiting for a dynamic professional to work within the PMEAL Advisory team. The overall purpose of the role is to support and facilitate quality programming and stronger National Societies.
A day in the life of a PMEAL Advisor
Working within a team of regionally or focus area-aligned PMEAL Advisors you will lead, facilitate, and enable BRC-supported programmes and our partner National Societies to strengthen their approaches to planning, monitoring, accountability, evaluation, and learning.
Reporting to the Senior PMEAL Advisor, you will lead or contribute to initiatives that will strengthen BRC's overall approach to quality programming to have a greater impact on the lives of disaster-affected people.
This is an exciting niche opportunity. You will be supporting a region or a cluster of countries (likely West and Central Africa and the Overseas Territories). The role will also support other teams such as the Cash, Livelihoods, and other technical areas on request and in agreement with the PMEAL team.
In this diverse and largely autonomous role, you will also assist in assuring that the Safe and Inclusive Minimum Actions are incorporated into all programmes supported by BRC and will be a champion for ensuring that CEA is mainstreamed.
This role will involve some short periods of international travel (potentially up to three months of the year) and may require you to work in a physically demanding environment.
