Mission and objectives
The WHO Country Office in Slovakia was established in 1994 in Bratislava to support WHO’s work in the country and provide leadership in advocacy, partnership and representation, policy development and technical cooperation. The Office is the focal point for WHO activities in Slovakia and consists of two staff members. In 2013, Slovakia successfully reduced the tuberculosis rate to 6.4 cases per 100 000 population and is entering the elimination phase.
Context
The Volunteers will, to the best of their ability, competently and correctly proofread the document in the Ukrainian language. The proofreading of the document will have positive impact to reduce the number of mistakes, make sure the document is correct and understandable, and make possible changes to improve the document. The text may contain some professional vocabulary. The Health Booklet aims to provide essential information in the Ukrainian language, which is the primary language of the target audience, to facilitate better understanding and access to healthcare resources and services available in Slovakia.
Task description
We are seeking 2 Online Volunteers to support us by proofreading the Health Brochure designed specifically for Ukrainian refugees to provide information about the healthcare servises and medical system in the Slovak Republic. The document will be provided in Ukrainian language. The document contains up to 35 pages in the format of A4. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: - Thoroughly review the content of the Health Booklet to identify and correct any typographical, grammatical, or spelling mistakes. - Ensure that the language used is clear, concise, and easily understandable by the target audience (Ukrainian refugees). - Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of the Health Booklet. - Ensure that the booklet is accessible to the target audience by reviewing layout, font size, and any visual elements. The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the World Health Organization team in the Slovak Republic and learn about the ways in which the RCCE materials influence to the vulnerable community (refugees) in the EU hosting countries and how it could increase awareness of the population.
