Position: Senior Statistician/ Biostatistician
Organization: The INCLEN Trust International

About Us: INCLEN is an international not-for-profit health research organization conducting collaborative, multi-disciplinary research studies on high priority health problems partnering with over 218 institutes in India that include medical schools, research institutes and non-governmental organizations. INCLEN is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India (GOI). There are three community sites of INCLEN (https://somaarth.org/) where a large volume of demographic, and environmental data is regularly collected besides the implementation of studies in a maternal-child, adolescent, and older age health.
Applications are being invited from young competent, enthusiastic, academic career-oriented individuals for the positions as âSenior Statistician/ Biostatisticianâ to participate in new and ongoing research programs.
Some Job Responsibilities:
The incumbent shall be part of research team conducting various research projects to perform the following tasks:
⢠Statistical Analysis and Study Design: Collaborate closely with Project Investigators to design and plan research studies, clinical trials, or experiments, ensuring appropriate statistical methods are employed to meet study objectives.
⢠Data Management: Oversee and manage data collection, validation, and cleaning processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Implement efficient data management practices and data quality checks.
⢠Statistical Modeling and Analysis: Perform advanced statistical analyses using appropriate software tools. Interpret and communicate results effectively to support decision-making and research conclusions.
⢠Team Development: Lead the development and mentoring of a team of statisticians. Provide guidance and support to junior statisticians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
⢠Training: Conduct training sessions for project staff on data management protocols, statistical methodologies, and relevant software tools to enhance their understanding and proficiency in statistical analysis.
⢠Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control measures for statistical analyses, ensuring adherence to regulatory and industry standards.
⢠Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, data scientists, and other stakeholders, to develop comprehensive statistical plans and effectively integrate statistical insights into research projects.
⢠Reporting and Publication: Contribute to the preparation and review of project reports, scientific papers, and manuscripts for publication, ensuring statistical methods and results are accurately represented.
⢠Methodology Development: Stay up-to-date with advances in statistical methodologies and incorporate innovative approaches into research projects as appropriate.
⢠Problem-solving: Provide expert guidance and support in addressing complex statistical issues and challenges that arise during the course of research projects.
⢠Project Management: Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and successful project completion.
⢠Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all statistical aspects of the research projects comply with relevant regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines.
⢠Communication: Communicate effectively with project investigators, team members, and stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships and facilitate the integration of statistical insights into research projects.
⢠Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices in statistical analysis and data management, driving efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
⢠Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities to enhance expertise in statistical methodologies and biostatistics.
Overall, the Senior Statistician/ Biostatistician will play a critical role in supporting research projects, providing statistical expertise, and leading the development of a skilled team of statisticians.
Qualification:
⢠Essential MSc Mathematics/Statistics/Biostatistics
⢠PhD will be desirable.
Essential skill:
⢠Conversant with computers and MS Office, STATA and SPSS
Desirable skills:
⢠Understanding of research methodology and public health system.
⢠In-depth knowledge
