Context
In UNICEF, over 1000 colleagues work in the Supply Function across 97 countries and 173 offices. UNICEF's supply and logistics headquarters - Supply Division - is located in Copenhagen, which is also home to the largest humanitarian warehouse in the world. The Learning & Development (L&D) unit of the Human Resources Centre in Supply Division (SD), Copenhagen is responsible for learning and development for the supply function staff as well as partners. Under guidance of the supervisor, the UNV will provide support to the roll-out of key learning initiatives in the supply function.
Task description
In agreement with the supervisor(s), the UNV will provide support with the following main activities: A. Learning programme implementation • Coordinates logistical arrangements and assists in organizing learning events and sharing sessions (virtual, blended, face-to-face and online activities). • Compiles, prepares, and updates training materials and practicalities (presentation material, agenda, list of participants, evaluations, and reports). • Provides technical support and other support in facilitation of learning events. • Provides support with travel and practical arrangements for global participants. • Maintains Learning Calendar and SD planning calendar. • Communicates and shares information related to learning initiatives on communication platforms and correspondence by email. B. AGORA e-learning • Updates learning content on AGORA using different functionalities of the LMS platform for course administration, evaluation, and reporting. • Supports the testing and quality insurance process of new eLearning courses before being launched on AGORA. C. Administration & monitoring • Maintains data on training initiatives, prepares statistics and training reports and evaluations. • Updates the Learning Database and the PowerBI L&D dashboard. • Tracks L&D budget expenditures in close collaboration with the HRC budget focal point and prepares periodical reports on the L&D budget. • Process learning team invoices and carry out related transactions. • Purchase and maintains L&D licenses on authorizing and designing tools. • Supports creating and maintaining contracts with individual and institutional vendors and follows up on the deliverables. • Any other tasks supporting the coordination and implementation of learning activities as defined by the supervisor. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities; • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible. Results/expected outputs: • As an active UNICEF team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNICEF and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: The known tasks of the unit related to training materials, courses, virtual and in-person events have been supported so that they have been carried out in a timely and accurate manner. New projects and initiatives have been supported in a way that has led to demonstrable progress. • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment. • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed.
