Know Me India Trust (KMIT) and Shahi Export Pvt Ltd had jointly initiated a Skill training â Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) for women from poor social and economic backgrounds to fight against human trafficking, modern slavery, and poverty by empowering girls and women to be economically independent, leading a life of freedom and dignity. After learning technical skills, they will get job placement at Shahi factories, Bangalore. The technical skill-training centre is called the ``Swabhimaanâ project. It is situated at Abhayapur, Orient Colliery, Brajrajnagar district, Jharsuguda, Odisha.
Our programs aim to empower women and adolescent girls, including girls at-risk of modern-day slavery, with knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effectively make informed decisions and choices, gain economic freedom and live a life of dignity.

Summary of Role
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the placement and professional development of beneficiaries getting trained under the SWABHIMAAN project. The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring beneficiariesâ progress and facilitating training and support activities.
The project coordinator will be responsible to manage the projectâs overall outcome on safe migration and placements of target women beneficiaries. Within this broad framework, the person is expected to be responsible for:
⢠Pre-Employment: Support in mobilising target women and address any barriers to her employment at personal, family, society level. This should also include Job readiness and individualized counselling, work readiness, skill gap assessment and skill-building training.
⢠Job Placement: make sure that all the beneficiaries receiving the training under the Swabhimaan centre are counselled and transition to employment opportunities outside Bhubaneshwar.
⢠Post-Placement: this supports six months of post-placement service, which is a critical component to ensure that sustainable employment outcomes are tracked.
⢠Job Retention: coaching & mentoring to check with beneficiaries after placement on their well- being, economic freedom and take suitable steps to ensure the same.
Role & Responsibilities
Planning, Documentation and Reporting
⢠Regularly liaise with the WFD team to plan implementation and ensure the tasks are completed as per the timeframe.
⢠Facilitate planning and reporting processes together with the WFD project team.
⢠Document and manage case profiles of all beneficiaries and provide necessary information for overall reporting purposes.
⢠Provide regular updates on progress, priorities and constraints and assist with the administrative duties related to the running of livelihoods activities in the project.
⢠Ensure activities are completed with quality and within time and report any concerns to the Livelihoods Coordinator.
⢠Perform other responsibilities as agreed with your supervisor and the extended project team
⢠Produce and submit monthly reports on project activities as required, and maintain programme documentation as required.
⢠Ensure that necessary data is documented in the MIS systems, and support in other MEL tools and processes.
⢠Actively monitor profile of each woman at field level and report/flag any concerns. Also, continuously watch out for any unintended risks as per relevant laws and policies at national/ state level, and flag any concerns immediately.
Project Implementation
⢠Support project team in community mobilisation process and enrolling deserving women in the project.
⢠Manage individual case profiles of each woman, understand individual barriers to employment and take appropriate measures to address the issues at personal, family or community level.
⢠Network and build relations with relevant stakeholders that provide placements or facilitate safe migration and placement process for existing job opportunities outside Bhubaneshwar.
⢠Pro-actively engage with other project staff in the development of Community Engagement Strategies, community-based and social cohesion-focused initiatives. That essentially includes building relationships with community leaders and influencers, generate trust and motivation in community at large in the available employment opportunities through creatively designed interventions.
⢠Identify and build links with governmental and non-governmental organisations as well as public institutions and private sector that offers job placement opportunities for the project beneficiaries.
⢠Make an assessment for skill gap in each beneficiary, document the same and work with project team to address the same successfully.
⢠Conduct all administrative job requirements for ensuring women are able to travel and join their placements as per agreed timelines, including escorting the women during their travel journeys.
⢠Support the project team in ensuring women retain in jobs at least for a period of one year, and are able to continually grow in their existing role and responsibilities.

Eligibility and Qualifications:
---Should be a diploma holder or graduate in social sciences or management or a related field.
---Required candidates with 2-4 years of experience in workforce development counseling and/or providing individualized and group pre-placement, placement, and post-placement counseling to beneficiaries from diverse communities and an understanding of the safe migration of beneficiaries to the job site.
---Have an understanding the workforce development field and the network of service providers and pool of suitable employers.
---Experience in managing multiple projects at the same time and multitasking, on occasions under stress, and meeting deadlines.
---Languages preferred- Oriya, Hindi & English.
---Should be open to travel to project sites and candidates owning two-wheelers would be preferred.
The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 6 months (till March 2024), after which further employment is subject to continued availability of funds.
Compensation: Between Rs. 20,000- Rs. 25,000 per month, It shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
