SAATHII works to increase access to rights, stigma-free and inclusive health/legal/educational/social services through community support, information dissemination, networking, operational research, advocacy, training and other technical assistance services.

Job Descriptions:
SAATHII is looking for a suitable individual for the post of Finance Manager (cum Compliance Co-ordinator) who will be primarily responsible for the management of central financial functioning. The position will be based out of its Delhi office.

Key responsibilities of the Finance and Compliance Manager:

a) The Finance and Compliance Manager will be responsible for the organizational financial management on a day-to-day basis including ensuring all statutory compliance.

b) They will work in close coordination with respective project Finance Officer(s) and Manager(s) to ensure smooth finance management of the organization at all levels including:

i. Monitoring of cash inflow and outflow of the funds in various projects, and its fund management,
ii. Ensuring release of payments on timely basis to staff, consultants, vendors and partner organizations after verification of payment requisition
iii. Reviewing of the books of accounts and bank balances reconciliation
iv. Ensuring all necessary statutory deductions, such as TDS, Provident Fund, Professional Tax etc., during the release of payments; and ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are timely met, such as filing of Income Tax, FC(R)A, TDS, Provident Fund, Professional Tax, Goods and Service Tax returns (GST), etc.
v. Prepare financial MIS on a quarterly basis or as and when needed.

c) They need to ensure that all required financial, administrative and human resource related records and data are accurately prepared, filed and kept under safe custody, support in preparing organizational operational budgets and other MIS / documents as per requirements of the Board of Trustees and Management Committee
d) They will provide support in completion of the statutory audit of the organization, and adequate and timely advice to the Management Committee in the areas of statutory requirements and its amendments, risk assessment, internal control systems, and financial best practices
e) They will provide support in developing budgets for new business plans or proposal being submitted to various donors
f) They will carry out periodic supportive monitoring visits to various branch offices and provide oversight to the central finance officer for regular bank balances reconciliation and other reconciliations including inter-project settlements and control accounts maintenance for all project bank accounts.
g) They will represent SAATHII before Income Tax department, Home Ministry and other statutory authorities as and when required, and undertake other responsibilities not outlined above which are commensurate with a role of this nature and which have been mutually discussed and agreed.

Reporting:

The Finance and Compliance Manager will report to the Finance Director.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

1. Post Graduate degree in Commerce, Financial Management or other relevant field.

2. At least 8 to 10 years of experience in financial management, accounting and administrative work in the Non-profit sector.

3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of computerized accounting systems and usage of ERP version of Tally™ software.

4. Sound and substantive knowledge of Income Tax, FCRA and other laws and statutory requirements relevant for the functioning of a non-profit organization.

5. Experience in providing intensive technical and capacity building support to the staff on financial management, organizational development and legal issues

6. Strong skills in computer usage - including Microsoft Office software, especially MS Excel™.

7. Good command over English, particularly in developing budget justification and utilization reports, and stakeholder correspondence.

8. Good communication skills in English (spoken and written) and Hindi language (spoken). Knowledge of a southern Indian language would be a plus.

9. Basic knowledge of current health and development sector issues, particularly HIV/AIDS, gender, sexuality, human rights and reproductive health issues.

10. Willingness to travel to different SAATHII Offices as and when required.

11. Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment, with demonstrated leadership, communication, networking and presentation capabilities.

Remuneration: Negotiable based on experience and skills and last salary earned and expected.
