Socio-Legal Information Centre (SLIC) is a collective of lawyers and social activists dedicated to the use of the legal system to advance Human Rights, struggle against violations, and ensure access to justice for all. A non-profit, non-governmental Organization, SLIC provides pro-bono legal services to those with little or no access to the justice system.
SLIC in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) provides Protection and Legal support to Refugees and Asylum seekers.
Job Description
- To capture information about Refugees/Asylum seekers through Biometrics for FR/Registration process.
- To provide socio-legal counseling to refugees on issues of protection/special needs.
- To work closely and interact with a wide range of refugee communities in a multi-cultural environment.
- To attend training/workshops/meetings and conduct fact findings in and outside of Delhi whenever required on refugees and other Human rights issues.
- To coordinate with other UNHCR’s outstation partners in the documentation renewal activity and to conduct onsite FR/Registration for refugee communities residing outside Delhi whenever required.
- Report writing and documentation.
Educational & Professional Requirement:
- The candidates should possess a Graduate University Degree.
- The candidate is expected to possess good counseling and communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work in a mixed-cultural environment.
- Fluency in English and Hindi languages is essential. Knowledge of regional and foreign languages will be an additional asset.
- High-level proficiency in using computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, PPT, Internet, Access, etc. would be essential.
- The candidate should possess a Human Rights perspective approach.
- Relevant work experience in the Social Sector is desired.
Work Experience: Minimum 1 year.
