The MASTER IN MANAGEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT (MANDEV)
This programme provides participants with the knowledge and skills for effective participation in the management of development programmes and projects. The content is multidisciplinary, ranging from exploration of key topics in development economics to the rule of law, the factors influencing the design and effective operation of development institutions, and important aspects of local development. In addition, the programme explores the full spectrum of managerial and analytical competencies needed for project cycle management (PCM) and some related interpersonal skills.
The programme is jointly organized by the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) and the University of Turin, Turin (Italy). It is composed of three parts and is designed in such a way to minimize participants’ absence from work duties back home (only 18 weeks in Turin). Online and classroom interaction and teamwork are emphasized in order to prepare the students for effective engagement in the participatory approaches to development work. The tuition fee for the whole programme is EUR 8,500.
The 18th edition of the Master is open for applications until 17 September 2018 and the following schedule is foreseen for the three phases:
The programme is intended for professionals from public and private institutions and NGOs working in the area of development or graduates aspiring to work in this area. Ideally, applicants should have 2-3 years of work experience in the field of Development Cooperation. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring junior UN staff or staff of agencies that work through projects and programmes of technical cooperation – particularly those working in field offices.
