The UN's Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a great way for talented young professionals to launch a career with the UN Secretariat as an international civil servant. The UN YPP has become the largest annual young career program for the whole UN family. This year the program targets young professionals from 65 participating countries and General Staff members of the UN secretariat.
The written examination will be administered online in two stages:
General Paper tests your writing and analytical skills and the Specialised Paper tests the substantive knowledge of your job family and includes multiple choice questions, long (essay) questions, and short questions.
The YPP examination is extremely competitive. Official UN statistics show that only 4% of the candidates pass the written examination phase and are invited further for the next step: the interview. Intense preparation is the key to success. We have created Impactpool's 2018 YPP guide to optimize your preparation. The guide gives you insights into the structure of the YPP and includes more than 110 questions and answers, tips for the application process and the interview, plus sample test. Impactpool’s Talent Acquisition Director has used his extensive experience to compile the ultimate guide about the YPP, which consists of 56 pages of the best tips to help you join the UN family.
The YPP guide is not a publication of the United Nations. This is a publication of Intalma AB for Impactpool. Impactpool is a social enterprise not associated with the United Nations.
