For decades, thousands of humanitarians from West and Central Africa have been taking part in the MSF adventure! Their commitment and expertise are well-established . Almost 50 years after the organization was founded, a group of doctors and other MSF associates from the region stood up to remind their colleagues that Europe did not have a “monopoly on solidarity.”
Better late than never! The MSF movement voted in 2019 in favor of the creation of the operational association MSF WaCA (West & Central Africa) . Based in West and Central Africa, this new entity associates autonomously and decides where to develop emergency healthcare in the region but also worldwide, with the desire to maintain MSF's high standards in terms of quality of care and transparency.
