Pak Response

Pak Response is a Pakistani non-profit founded in 1985 by a group of public health professionals, educators, and engineers who believed that rural communities deserved the same quality of water, healthcare, and schooling as any city neighbourhood. Four decades later, we still believe it, and we still work for it.

We are active in all four provinces of Pakistan and in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Our head office is in Islamabad and our provincial hubs are in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. We employ three hundred and ninety staff, ninety-four per cent of whom are Pakistani nationals, and we work with volunteers and community committees in every district where we operate.

How We Work

We work through public systems where they exist and complement them where they do not. Every water scheme we build is handed over to a village committee. Every health worker we train sits within a government catchment. Every school we support is a government school. We believe that sustainable change in Pakistan runs through Pakistani institutions, and that the role of a good non-profit is to strengthen those institutions, not to replace them.
