Women have been re-entering the workforce in the labor market at a slightly higher rate than men, but overall numbers are still low. In 2023 the labor-force participation rate increased from 63% to 64%, which is still lower than the peak of 69% in 2009. Although numbers are improving, the type of employment secured by women with a significant proportion in the informal economy, representing 80% of employment opportunities for women, compared to 67% for men.
Globally, today, less than a third (32%) of leadership positions are held by women. In 2016, women made up 31% of leadership positions worldwide. The statistics for women in the formal economy demonstrate where progress has slowed or stalled. The 2023 report shows that women account for 41.9% of the workforce in 2023. Yet, the proportion of women in senior leadership roles (Vice-President, Director, or C-suite) has dropped by 10% to 32.2.%. The level of variance signifies considerable disparity across sectors. In consumer services, retail, and education, the ratio of women in C-suite versus entry-level representation is between 64% to 68%.
Impactpool's annual virtual career event on the 26th of October, will run throughout the day between 9:00 and 17:00 CET (see it in your time zone). The goal is to support impactful international organizations in diversifying their recruitment efforts and continue the endeavors of reaching equality in organizational leadership.
Women leaders currently in working at or seeking to work in a senior and senior executive role at an international, multilateral, bilateral or NGOs.
7+ years of relevant international work experience
A postgraduate degree (Bachelor's or equivalent)
Multi-lingual with fluency in English

Don't try "hard sell" yourself, but rather create an interactive and meaningful human interaction, ask the rep how they are doing and thank them for their time, we are sure they will appreciate it.
In the Main booth, click the green button when the chat is live for that organization. You can request to chat with multiple organizations. You'll be automatically connected when someone is available.
Once a representative is available you will be connected to the chat. The representative can view your uploaded CV. If you are listening to a live presentation at this time, you will be “pulled” out of the live presentation. You will be able to re-enter the presentation via the lobby.
The chats are mainly an introduction, and a possibility to explore and interact. They are not formal interviews, rather an opportunity to learn more about the organization, vacancies, share your profile etc.
Most organizations will require you to apply according to their regular application process.
We strongly encourage you to start the chat with displaying your interest in the organization. Highlight your profile, your skills and experiences. Ask your questions about career opportunities, work culture in the organization, what profiles they are looking for etc.
We recommend that you do not start the chat by saying “What jobs do you have for me”.
