Webinar Description
Are you interested in a career that advances climate resilience and sustainability?
Join The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Webinar for Japanese Nationals to learn more about career opportunities at the world’s largest dedicated climate fund.
The Green Climate Fund is a unique global platform established by 194 governments to support developing countries in pursuing low-emission and climate-resilient development. Working with partners around the world, GCF invests in projects and programmes that help countries reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen their resilience to the impact of climate change.
This webinar offers Japanese professionals an opportunity to discover GCF through the experiences of Japanese colleagues working across different areas of the organization.
The webinar features an outstanding lineup of guest speakers. Such as Juichiro Sahara, Lead Intelligence & Analytics in GCF’s Department of External Relations, who brings extensive experience in resource mobilization and international development, including previous work with JICA. Marie Tajima, a climate investment specialist with more than 15 years of experience across investment banking and international development, will share perspectives from her work structuring climate investments and mobilizing private capital in Africa. Kana Okamoto, Associate Counsel in GCF’s Office of the General Counsel, will offer insights from her career spanning international law, project finance, and her journey to GCF through the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme. Participants will also hear from representatives of GCF’s HR team and colleagues from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
Together, their experiences illustrate the diverse professional backgrounds and career pathways that can lead to a role in international climate action.
The webinar will also introduce GCF’s mission and work, employment opportunities, and career development, while giving participants a first-hand perspective on what it is like to build a career at an international organization dedicated to tackling climate change.
Whether your background is in international development, finance, law, policy, climate, or related fields, this webinar is an opportunity to explore where your experience could contribute to GCF’s mission.
