Candidates applying for international jobs and working in challenging international environments in the development sector face challenges from the moment they decide to apply to a role outside of their cultural “comfort zone”. Understanding fundamental concepts of cross-cultural communication and behaviors is essential to increase success throughout the application process and further when performing a role in a multicultural context.
