Current open Director Vacancies in WHO Headquarters:

Director - Noncommunicable Diseases Department  

The Director will provide strategic direction and vision across a multidisciplinary programme area of work within the Department of Noncommunicable Diseases; bringing cohesion to the Organization`s global health policies and organizational needs across the three levels of the Organization. The Director will politically position the work of the Department and act as the global representative and overall spokesperson of the Department, engaging internationally in dialogue with senior officials of global health organizations, as well as with Ministers of Health, Development Agencies, Donors and other stakeholders. The Director provides senior level advice and guidance to senior management and is accountable for the overall management and galvanization of Department teams to meet the objectives of the Organization

Director - Nutrition and Food Safety 

The Director will provide strategic direction and vision across a multidisciplinary programme area of work within the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety, bring cohesion to Organizations policies on food and nutrition and drive the action to improve diet, nutrition and food safety across the three levels of the organization. The Director will politically position the work of the Department and act as the global representative and overall spokesperson of the Department, engaging internationally in dialogue with senior officials of global health, food and nutrition organizations, as well as with Ministers of Health and Agriculture, Intergovernmental bodies, Development Agencies, Donors and other stakeholders. The Director provides senior-level advice and guidance to senior management and is accountable for the overall management and inspiration of Department teams and meet the objectives of the Organization.

Director - Country Strategy and Support

The Director provides strategic direction and vision across a multidisciplinary programme area of work within the Department of Country Cooperation and Strategy bringing cohesion to Organizations global health policies and organizational needs across the three levels of the Organization. The Director will politically position the work of the Department and act as the global representative and overall spokesperson of the Department, engaging internationally in dialogue with senior officials of global health organizations, as well as with Ministers of Health, Development Agencies, Donors and other stakeholders. The Director provides senior level advice and guidance to senior management and is accountable for the overall management and galvanization of Department teams to meet the objectives of the Organization.

Director - Global Coordination and Partnership

The Director will provide strategic direction and vision across a multidisciplinary programme area of work within the Department of (Global Coordination and Partnership on Antimicrobial Resistance) bringing cohesion to Organizations global health policies and organizational needs across the three levels of the Organization. The Director will politically position the work of the Department and act as the global representative and overall spokesperson of the Department, engaging internationally in dialogue with senior officials of global health organizations, as well as with Ministers of Health, Development Agencies, Donors and other stakeholders. The Director provides senior-level advice and guidance to senior management and is accountable for the overall management and galvanization of Department teams to meet the objectives of the Organization.

 Director, Human Resources and Talent Management

The Director of Human Resources and Talent Management will provide a visionary direction in the management of human resources for the World Health Organization, oriented at the strategic priorities of the Organization, anchored in its values and ethics, and resulting in sustained, coordinated and effective human resources management. This position ensures that strategies, plans, policies and practices are in place to attract, recruit and retain talent, promote staff development, ensure excellence in performance and foster ethical behaviors and through this to develop and sustain WHO as a credible, high performing, accountable, and responsive organization. The Director provides senior-level advice and guidance to senior management and is accountable for the overall management and galvanization of the Department teams to meet the objectives of the Organization.
