Result of Service
The consultant will assist UNCTAD in the implementation of the Programme, particularly in implementing the programme’s tools and mechanisms, including the 7th BioTrade Congress, and conducting at least 10 BioTrade self-assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Project Officer, and in coordination with other colleagues, the consultant will: 1. Support the implementation of tools and mechanism implemented by the programme, including the revised Roadmap, the knowledge platform, and 7th BioTrade Congress a. Assist partners and other stakeholder to use the revised Roadmap and the knowledge platform b. Support the organization of at least one event, such as the 7th BioTrade Congress c. Support the improvement of the tools and mechanisms, revised Roadmap, knowledge platform and website, based on the feedback from users 2. Enhance the capacity of partners and other organizations to conduct the UNCTAD/ITC BioTrade self-assessment a. Test and provide inputs to ITC on the updated self-assessment in order to ensure it fits the progamme’s objectives b. Support the development of training material for partners and other organizations to use the updated self-assessment c. Support partners and practitioners to conduct at least 10 BioTrade self-assessments d. Monitor and promote the use of the self-assessments by partners or other organizations 3. Provide support to the development of BioTrade documents, including the drafting of the SECO annual report Monitoring and progress control will be done through regular exchange of emails and/or telephone/web calls.
Qualifications/special skills
A first university degree, Bachelor, in Trade, International Relations, Law, Economics, Communications, Journalism, Social Science or related field is required. At least 5 years of work experience in implementing activities related to trade, environment or sustainable development is required. Experience in managing knowledge management platforms, organizing or conducting trainings, and drafting reports is required. Experience of working within the United Nations as well as on trade and biodiversity is desirable
Languages
Fluency oral and written in English is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable.
