Intern - Business Management (MCDF)

The assignment is to provide general support to the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) Secretariat on business management. MCDF is a multilateral initiative designed to increase high-quality connectivity investments in developing countries through wider application of accredited International Financial Institutions (IFIs) standards and to encourage other investors and financial institutions to adopt these standards. MCDF’s activities include information sharing, capacity building and project preparation. MCDF comprises:

  • A Collaboration Platform to promote communication and collaboration between partner governments, IFIs and emerging market investors about standards and best practices, and infrastructure pipelines.
  • A Finance Facility to support grants to activities of the MCDF.
  • A Secretariat to support the day-to-day operations of the MCDF.
  • An Administrator to provide other, mainly financial, services to the MCDF.

AIIB serves as the Administrator of the MCDF and host of the Secretariat with effect from June 30, 2020. The Secretariat will provide program management and administrative services to support the Finance Facility and the Collaboration Platform. It is administratively established by, but functionally independent from, AIIB.

The MCDF Business Management Intern will provide support to the MCDF Secretariat to facilitate business planning and implementation, communication, and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Support streamline workflows and procedures and facilitate information sharing and decision making across teams.
  • Provide support to monitor and facilitate the execution of Secretariat Workplan to ensure the delivery of MCDF’s business objectives within the timelines and budget.
  • Support preparation of speeches, briefing notes, presentations, data analysis, and other materials as needed.
  • Support to the MCDF Secretariat as needed, and in accordance with the skills and background of the successful candidate.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Masters/MBA or PhD program, preferably in economics, engineering, finance, public administration, international relations, development studies or other related fields.
  • Passion for international development, ideally with some previous work experience in a developing country or international organization.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to produce high quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
