Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations. 

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

 

About the job:

The Supply Chain Officer is responsible for all procurement of goods and services, warehousing, transportation of good and people, vehicle fleet management, and general logistics support to DRC activities for Kherson base.

The role contributes to maintaining efficient operations and providing essential support to DRC activities in Kherson region.  S/he is able to make independent decisions and actions in his/her field of activity, helping to fulfill the basic requirements of the organization and development of the response team. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Procurement of goods and services necessary to conduct DRC activities.  Ensuring all the procurement processes are in line with DRC Operations Handbook
  • Assist in recruitment, training and capacity building of the logistics team
  • Vehicle fleet management
  • Warehouse management, including reporting and alert mechanism to program staff
  • Effective and efficient support to programs’ needs
  • Develop and maintain relevant data base - Maintaining the assets list
  • Weekly and monthly status reports
  • Assist in recruitment, training and capacity building of the logistics team
  • Track all orders, purchases and deliveries
  • Ensure that all logistics specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected
  • Oversight of all purchase and service contract to ensure DRC's interests are protected
  • Fixed asset management
  • Correctly apply ERP supply chain processes

 

About you:
To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, procurement, transport and distribution, warehousing, and stock management. Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Knowledge of the Kherson Local Civil Society is an advantage. 
  • Good understanding of procurement rules and regulations.
  • Upper-Intermediate English proficiency is mandatory
  • Fluency in local language
  • Experience within an international NGO is an advantage.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, communicability.
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • English Pre-Intermediate or higher
  • Fluency in Ukrainian.
