Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.

Job Purpose

The consultant will provide counseling services to IRRI’s workforce, thus improving the well-being of staff and their qualified dependents.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities

In general, conduct one-on-one counseling sessions for IRRI staff and their qualified dependents
Provide support to employees who may have experienced challenging circumstances whether in the workplace or life in general. This may include offering crisis intervention services, coordinating with external resources if necessary, and recommending strategies to the HROD and SSS/OHC for supporting affected employees
In collaboration with IRRI’s Occupational Health Physician, conduct workshops and participate in info sessions about mental health and staff well-being
