Position Description

EnCompass LLC is seeking a Learning and Evaluation Associate to join the Learning & Leadership Development team. The Learning and Evaluation Associate provides administrative and coordination support on the design and evaluation of learning courses, activities, and events conducted in Washington, DC and internationally.

The Learning and Evaluation Associate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and have the capability to support multiple concurrent tasks. This role will collaborate with instructional/ learning designers, evaluation colleagues, and project management staff to effectively implement innovative learning programs.

This is a full-time position located at the EnCompass principal office in Silver Spring, Maryland, and follows the EnCompass flexible hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office. This individual may also be expected to work from client sites in the Washington, DC metro area, as needed.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship for a work visa or permit.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions:

  • Supports the development of dynamic, customized, experiential session designs, e-learning courses and multimedia using a variety of technology tools
  • Contributes to in-person, hybrid, virtual, and e-learning curriculum designs and course updates
  • Contributes to the creation of e-tools, e-learning courses, and videos
  • Supports scheduling and coordination of ongoing instructional design and evaluation activities of learning programs
  • Coordinates learning evaluation activities through the phases of planning, design, implementation, analysis, reporting, and workflow tracking
  • Supports data collection and management, data analysis and visualization, and reporting
  • Supports needs assessments and training evaluation, using mixed method approaches and including research, focus groups, document reviews, surveys, and interviews
  • Contributes to the design and development of visual report components and presentation materials, identifies trends, and reports evaluation of learning transfer and on-the-job application of training activities
  • Drafts post-course reports and contributes to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Contributes to and supports the planning of major learning events and conferences
  • Provides on-site administrative and facilitation support for in-person retreats and learning events
  • Serves as a virtual producer for virtual and hybrid retreats and learning events
  • Attends and documents team and client meetings, produces detailed notes and reports
  • Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with all project stakeholders
  • Supports coordination of internal learning communities focused on instructional design and learning evaluation

Other:

  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as needed

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School diploma and 7 years of professional experience; Associate’s degree and 5 years; Bachelor’s degree and 3 years; or a Master’s degree and 1 year
  • Degree in international development, international communication, adult learning, instructional design, instructional technology, organizational development, or a related field if held

Experience and Skills

  • Fluent in the use of MS 365 and experience using Google Suite products, particularly Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms
  • Experience with SurveyMonkey or other online survey tools
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data using relevant systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, SPSS, NVivo, Dedoose)
  • Experience supporting the design, implementation, and reporting on mixed-methods research activities
  • Experience planning, supporting, and coordinating interactive virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning events, convenings, and curricula based on experiential, adult-centered learning, using blended learning and innovative technologies
  • Ability to synthesize information and data and convert technically complex concepts into plain language
  • Attention to detail combined with planning and organizational skills; experience with knowledge management a plus
  • Professional experience working in cross-cultural environments
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences with a high degree of cultural sensitivity
  • Adeptness at identifying issues and collaborating with colleagues to resolve them
  • An appetite for learning, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment in new ways of working
  • A commitment to providing the highest level of customer service

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Knowledge of the fundamental elements of learning design, including adult learning principles, participatory methods, instructional design, and related topic
  • Knowledge of platforms used for e-learning, animation, videos, and other digital learning elements (particularly Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond)
  • Fluency in language(s) other than English
  • Experience working or living in more than one country

The Starting Pay Range has been updated for 2024

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $61,500 - $72,000
