Provide technical advisory and capacity building support at a global, regional, and national levels.
Initiate, contribute and coordinate the development of global guidance documents to assist with IMO Member States in undertaking project specific activities.
Review, edit and contribute to other publications developed or commissioned by the project.
Supervise and act as the technical subject-matter expert on the development of global studies and research undertaken by IMO.
Liaise within IMO on project activities, including establishing synergies and coherence.
Facilitate the policy dialogue between industry and government representatives and actively support the Project Manager from a technical point of view.
Prepare and administer materials on awareness-raising to Lead Partner Countries and other developing countries.
Provide management and financial analyses to ensure all operations, financial administration, and procurement activities initiated by or assigned to the project are in compliance with IMO standards and procedures.
Draft documents, e.g. background papers, briefing notes, presentations to internal and external partners, speeches, mission reports and inputs for presentations by senior IMO staff on project-related issues for specialist or non-specialist audiences.
Chair technical discussions and participate as a speaker in international conferences, exhibitions and outreach activities representing the project and IMO.
Develop and implement a global central knowledge hub on all technical aspects of the project including overseeing the design and content of the data platform and conduct desktop research and establish collaboration agreements with appropriate institutions.
Review and edit consultant reports and provide feedback on their performance. Attend relevant conferences, meetings, and seminars, as required.
Draft terms of reference for contracting additional experts and consultants and oversee their engagement.
Undertake any other duties as required for the effective management of the project or the Division.
