The Entertainment Relations team is responsible for the growth and development of CARE’s celebrity and influencer partners across film, sports, food, music and social media. The goal of this area of marketing is to build a diverse, like-minded group of talent that will help raise the awareness of the organization’s mission, advocate for women & girls, and fundraise for this vital work.

The Manager of Entertainment Relations will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the celebrity Global Advisory Council program including maintaining relationships, tracking successes, reporting outcomes, managing talent logistics, and talent attending events.

This position needs a highly motivated individual with experience in entertainment or talent agencies who is both a self-starter, team player with public relations savvy. In collaboration with the Director, they will support and lead the weekly meeting with agency partner and works across departments requesting celebrity/influencer support.

This role is an integral part to growing CARE’s brand and ensuring all of our celebrity partnerships are A+ experiences for talent. Also, as we focus more on locally led efforts, the Manager of Entertainment Relations will help build strategies to recruit more global celebrity partners, and plans which are strategically aligned at the organization level but also locally relevant and applicable in different cultural environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Celebrity & Global Advisory Council Relations

  • Serve as relationship manager to Global Advisory Council (GAC) and other talent and provide strategic thinking and support to develop the GAC members to increase visibility and exposure for the brand.
  • Build organic relationships with our targeted list of celebrities, VIPs, and talent agencies and other related influencers and constantly scout and advise on new opportunities.
  • Provide strategic thinking and support to build and execute celebrity content strategy for fundraising and brand visibility goals.
  • Conduct research and help identify new potential global celebrity ambassadors across CARE countries including celebrities representing a cross-section of identifies, geographical locations and diaspora.
  • Manage relations, regular communications and weekly check-in with PR agency partner Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis.
  • Craft customized short and long-term engagement plans for GACs and other celebrities.
  • Project manage and further develop quarterly Global Advocacy Council newsletter to be distributed to celebrity ambassadors providing updates on CARE's work, programs and inform GACs what their counterparts are doing to advance CARE’s mission.
  • Work closely with Director to plan and execute CARE Learning Tours for celebrities and VIPs in developing countries where CARE programming is present; may include international travel for Manager.
  • Draft talking points, social media copy and other materials for celebrities and VIPs.
  • Monitor and track social media engagement of CARE Global Advisory Council Members, and other targets that are of interest to CARE, including entertainment news and trends.

Education Management of Celebrities and GACs

  • Develop comprehensive materials and educational curriculum to better educate celebrity ambassadors and VIPs about CARE and its mission.
  • Draft communications/ briefings/ one sheets to prepare celebrity ambassadors to participate in campiagns, events, fundraising initiatives and trips with CARE to the field.
  • Work closely with Advocacy Department and Resource Moblization Department to identify opportunities for celebrity engagement and learning, and find points of collaboration for advocacy related activities in the field/ Capitol HIll.
  • Assist Director to serve as point person for celebrity ambassadors during galas, fundraisers, events, and trips to the field.

Cross Functional Project Management and Administration

  • Serve as liaison between marketing departments to prepare and coordinate field trips, events, fundraising schemes and campaigns that involve celebrities or the entertainment industry.
  • Work closely with Social Media Team to create ready-made and and comprehensive social media content (toolkits) for celebrity (tweets, social media posts, etc.) as various needs arise for campaigns, advocacy, and fundraising initatives etc.
  • Track, manage, and update celebrity and entertainment media engagement metrics to produce quaterly & yearly dashbords to track growth and success.
  • Track cross-departmental requests for celebrity / talent needs.
  • Build decks and presentations for internal /external audiences about Entertainment Relations strategic plans, successes and big ideas.
  • Build effective project management, administration and communications infrastructure to better organize workload and ongoing projects in Entertainment Relations.
  • Ensure that the Marketing and Communications team is informed of department's upcomming projects and needs.
  • Provide management and support for procurement needs, contracts, agreements and more.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields; Communications / Marketing, Public Relations, Media Studies, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ experience in entertainment industry and working with celebrities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Skilled in Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Docs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues to achieve goals
  • Excellent relationship management skills with talent
  • Very organized, dynamic, motivated
  • An understanding of cultural & entertainment news trends
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
