Context

Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) covers good health and well-being goals. This overall purpose is to ensure healthy living for the global population, encourage preventative care and promote well-being at all ages. SDG 3 goals address all major health priorities, including mental, reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental disease; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines. This assignment will amplify SimukaAfrica.org and our SDG 3.4 Creative Arts Project Open Call in collaboration with HUG Art Gallery. The Simuka 3.4 Gallery on our website will feature selected artists throughout 2024. We seek to prioritize mental health awareness by encouraging creativity among the young people in Zimbabwe and international populations. Our campaign encourages them to participate in an open call with art and creative contributions. Selected works will be featured in an online campaign across Simuka’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).

Task description

The task involves creating and developing a comprehensive online creative arts campaign that utilizes a variety of artistic mediums to engage and educate the target audience. The campaign goal is to raise awareness of mental health issues by consolidating and generating publicity for artwork from our Open Call participants. Calls to Action will include educating the public on self-care, art therapy, and the benefits of art for child development alongside support to expand the program’s reach. Online Volunteers are also encouraged to submit art based on a mental health topic for publicity. The artwork will be shared on the SimukaAfrica.org website and social media platforms. (Twitter-X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube) Short video presentations of featured art will also be created for the SimukaAfrica.org YouTube channel.
