Result of Service
The individual contractor will provide general project support to the delivery of activities related to issues of concern, Environmentally Persistent Pharmaceutical Pollutants (EPPPs) and Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs), in particular in the context of the project entitled “Global best practices on emerging chemical policy issues of concern under the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals management (SAICM) (EDCs, EPPPs)”, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Duties and Responsibilities
The individual contractor will support as per the timeline indicated above and with input as relevant from substantive staff, including the following tasks: • Support the organization and delivery of technical expert meeting and consultations on pharmaceutical lifecycle/waste (in person and/or online) through logistical arrangements, drafting of invitations, information note for participants, liaison with partners and participants, compilation of presentations, note taking. • Assist in awareness raising/information sharing activities, in particular through drafting of web content. • Develop a draft plan for the dissemination of deliverables, knowledge products/lessons learned materials under the project. • Assist in the organization of a sector workshop, including through preparation of draft concept note, timeline, participants and speakers lists. • Assist in the preparation of contributions on the project subject matters to briefings and other relevant meetings, including through preparation of presentations, solicitation of inputs from relevant partners, draft input to briefings, logistical and organizational support. • Support reporting to donors, including project progress reports. • Support with administrative and organizational tasks related to the project.
Qualifications/special skills
A Master’s degree or equivalent in a field related to environmental or chemical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, sustainable development, or international/environmental law. A First level degree may be considered in lieu of the above-mentioned advanced degree provided the selected candidate has 4 years of relevant qualifying work experience. Fully proficient computer skills and use of web-based platforms and relevant software e.g., word processing, PowerPoint, excel, internal databases, Internet etc. • At least two years of relevant professional experience, in a field related to sustainable development, international chemicals or waste management. • Working experience(s) in a multicultural environment is an asset..
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other United Nations languages is an asset.
