Mission and objectives

In Tajikistan, UNDP contributes to sustainable and inclusive economic development both by working on the central policy level and by supporting local level development. At the policy level, UNDP and its sister UN agencies have been active in supporting the Government of Tajikistan to align its development planning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and bring innovative solution to the national development plans and implementation schemes. At the local level UNDP supports implementation of national development priorities helping communities to become more resilient and to reduce disparities related to geographic location, social context, and gender. UNDP’s Sustainable Economic Development Cluster (SED) is an integrated portfolio of projects that addresses issues affecting the lives of vulnerable groups of people on the ground in a holistic and cross-disciplinary manner, aiming at the sustainable economic growth and sustainable livelihoods of people of the country. UNDP SED Cluster supports localization and operationalization of the SDGs and the implementation of Tajikistan’s National Development Strategy 2030 and Mid-Term Development Programmes. The mission of UNDP SED Cluster is to support achievement of the CPD Outcome 2 in terms of promoting decent and productive employment, improved access to specialized knowledge and innovation and more favourable business environment especially for entrepreneurs and farmers.

Context

UNDP Tajikistan is seeking an online volunteer to provide support in development and content creation for the UNDP projects in area of prevention of violent extremism, promotion of social cohesion and youth engagement: writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, or creating visual content such as graphics, infographics, or videos to convey messages effective on prevention of violent extremism, reintegration and rehabilitation of the returnees, youth and women empowerment etc. Moreover, it is expected that the project will benefit from the skills and expertise of an online communication volunteer to enhance its communication efforts in the digital space. The content will be in English language. These efforts will led to enhanced visibility and impact of UNDP’s efforts through strategic communication and content creation. We expect the selected online volunteer(s) to start with this task April 2024 onwards.

Task description

• Develop and write at least 1 messages/social media posts per week • Ensure posts and translations are concise, in line with UNDP communications guidelines, and fit the audience • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the quality of the document, as well as best days-times to post the contents • Work closely with the UNDP Focal Point to conceptualize and design visual content, including graphics, infographics, and videos, to support written communications.
