Position title:Intern, Portfolio Financial Management 
Location: Geneva
Purpose of the position: Support ongoing work (audit database, dashboard for managing investments in capacity building plans, Financial Management and Risk Assurance Analytics).

Reports to: Director, Portfolio Financial Management   
Duration: Up to 24 weeks, to start immediately

BACKGROUND 

Within the Portfolio Financial Management, the intern will support the Senior Manager, PFM Policies, Guidelines, FM&RA and External Partnerships on ongoing work to update the external audit and assurance database, dashboard for managing investments in capacity building plans and providing analytics on the Financial Management and Risk Assurance (FMRA workstream)
With the various projects planned to improve internal processes and collaboration with external partners, The intern will participate in meetings, prepare presentations and review/ edit documents for better alignment to expected outcome. He/she will be guided by frequent interactions with his supervisors and colleagues in PFM to gather data to help drive strategic discussions on improving the transition process to use of Government systems. 

KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
•Effective support to the team in advancing existing projects and collating related data and information in an easy-to-use format.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

-Data collection, verification and reporting accounting related information 
-Analytical and management support 
-Assistance in the preparation of monthly or weekly financial reports
-Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases and other computer applications
-Manage specialized information, reports, forms dealing with fees, billing, tracking of
-projects etc.
-Attend weekly PFM meetings and present information as and when asked 
-Participate in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders 
-Support the supervisor and country focal points with adhoc tasks 
-Collaborate with associates of the core and high impact teams to review disbursement data 
-Enter information into the financial accounting system of the company
-Reviewing and integrating comments into existing guidelines and procedures 
-Preparing power point presentations & analytics for the team

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic:

•Pursuing (or recently completed) a basic university degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields or related experience desirable.

Skills/Competencies:

-knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis
-Must be able to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form
-Should be capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation
-Should have good written and oral communication skills in English. 
-Entering and verifying data
-Knowledge of computers, various software applications and standard office equipment
-Should have excellent skills in use of power point, word and excel
-Able to work independently with little supervision 
-Must have good writing and editing skills 

Languages:
•Fluency in English;
•French or other language from a Gavi member country is desirable.
