Human Resources Manager Afghanistan

What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder will ensure that the HR system is in accordance with NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation.

 

If you are someone who enjoys leading and inspiring large and diverse teams; is an effective communicator with good conflict management skills; and has a strong background in employee relations and reward management, then this is the role for you!

 

This position is only open to candidates who have the legal eligibility work in Afghanistan. NRC is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships for this position.

 

What you will do

  • Labour Law and Tax compliance.
  • Recruitment of national staff, in accordance with procedures.
  • Induction, including Code of Conduct and Anti-corruption guidelines.
  • Standard operating procedures quality control in all HR Functions.
  • Staff capacity building, training, and support in accordance with capacity gaps and training needs.
  • Salary review coordination and implementation.
  • Performance appraisals oversight.
  • Payroll oversight.
  • HR analytics and reporting.
  • Office management.
  • Administrative systems and procedures development and implementation. 

 

What you will bring

  • Senior Human Resources Management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Advanced degree, or similar qualification.
  • High risk, insecure, opaque, complex, and volatile context exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language (Dari or Pushto).

Afghanistan is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with a risk of systemic collapse and human catastrophe.

What we offer

  • Kabul, Afghanistan duty station.
  • 12-month contract duration.
  • 20% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 9 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
