Job Title: Social Media Manager

Salary: £44,554 to £56,336 dependent upon experience

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Remote with meetings in London twice a month and in Wilton, Wiltshire once a month; occasional international travel to our programmes may also be required.

Reporting To: Head of Brand, Content and Partnership Communications

About the role:

Social media is a vital bit of the jigsaw so if you’ve got the experience we need and the energy for an exciting hands-on challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Reporting to the Head of Brand, Content and Partnership Comms, and working with other colleagues in Comms as well as the wider organisation, you will draw on your experience of planning and delivering impactful social media campaigns to take our social media engagement to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy that makes effective use of all our stories and talented people to communicate news, bring our work to life and build authority
  • Plan and execute ‘stand out’ campaigns, striking the right balance between paid and organic posts to grow our audience
  • Work with colleagues in Comms and across HALO’s programmes to produce engaging content in a range of formats
  • Share responsibility for uploading content to our website, ensuring it is optimised and includes the appropriate hyperlinks
  • Build out and manage the content calendar, ensuring it is aligned with our evolving strategy and plan
  • Amplify our reach and ensure we are following and engaging with the right partners and influencers
  • Inspire programme colleagues to share stories and help them understand what good looks like, so the quality of content they provide us with improves
  • Be prepared to flex content plans in response to breaking news; use initiative to follow/build lists of influencers, partners and journalists
  • Use Google Analytics and Sprout Social to set and monitor goals, track conversions and measure engagement metrics
  • Work with other digital colleagues to make best use of website analytics and social listening metrics to inform plans and showcase success, ensuring that insights are used to showcase success and inform our approach to future campaigns
  • Keep us currently monitoring trends and technology and making sure we’re adapting to change

Requirements

Who we’re looking for

  • Someone with experience in the non-profit sector, ideally with a NGO
  • Someone who enjoys a hands-on role, with responsibility for developing strategy and working with colleagues to produce and amplify content
  • Someone with a proven track record of managing and growing social media channels

Skills

  • Knowhow to plan and deliver social media strategies for global channels
  • Tip top copywriting and editing for digital channels
  • Wide-ranging experience of producing creative and engaging content of a high quality in a variety of formats
  • A creative flair for storytelling
  • Demonstrable success in running paid social campaigns
  • Applied knowledge of harnessing data insights to measure and report on campaigns and inform content strategy
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation/ how to target key audiences
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams in order to coordinate content creation

All HALO staff are expected to undertake the following general duties:

  • Work within the framework of HALO’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement
  • Work towards achieving programme and/or group business plan objectives
  • Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all HALO policies and procedures and keep informed of HALO activities
  • Travel overseas as and when required
  • To discharge duties and responsibilities under HALO’s Health and Safety Procedures which may include Risk and COSHH Assessments and participation in evacuation procedures as necessary
