The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB/The Bank) is seeking to recruit an Intern, Communications and Corporate Affairs.  The successful candidate will be based at CDB’s headquarters in St. Michael, Barbados.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Communications and Corporate Affairs (DCCA/the Department) is primarily responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating the Bank’s communications programme to build and enhance its profile. The Department manages and maintains CDB’s communication channels, social media platforms, media relations, and leads on the development and dissemination of its information and knowledge products. In addition, the Department provides strategic advice and leadership to the Bank on internal and external communications, and external relations. 

THE ROLE

  • Assist in the development and delivery of social media content for various platforms
  • Support the team in the creation of promotional materials, such as newsletters, website content, blog posts, email campaigns, presentations, etc.
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends, and share insights with the team
  • Assist with event planning and coordination, including logistics, on-site support, and follow-up
  • Provide administrative support to the Corporate Communications team, as needed
  • Help to develop and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of communications campaigns
  • Perform data entry and other tasks as needed to support communications initiatives

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES

  • Currently enrolled in degree programme in marketing, communications or related field or recently graduated (not more than 12 months)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
  • Experience with graphic design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Copywriting experience

     This assignment will be carried out over a 3-month period.

     You must be a national of one of CDB's member countries.
