Overview of position
  • Our clients Field Office (FO) in Mukalla covers operations in the four governorates in the eastern part of Yemen namely Al Maharah, Socotra, Hadhramaut & Shabwah. Mukalla FO currently implements a wide range of life saving & life changing activities such as general food assistance to most vulnerable populations, school feeding, nutrition assistance & wide range of multi year livelihood support activities involving asset creation.

  • The Monitoring Assistant will be under the direct supervision of M&E Assistant. S / he will mainly be responsible to monitoring under GFA, FFA,FFT & TSFP program & reporting the finding into MoDA as well as provide recommendations for improve our clients activities in the region.

Role objectives
  • Broadly, the Monitoring Assistant will support the Mukalla team & our clients Yemen team in general to monitor activities, suggest improvements as needed & implement under Mukalla leadership.

  • The main responsibility of this position is to monitor, advise & report on any irregularities.

  • The person in this role will be expected to provide recommendations & suggestions based on their monitoring & reflected to MoDA platform, which will be a key part of their job with the our clients monitoring team.

  • Additionally, they will assist in coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure that our clients activities run smoothly.

Project reporting

The Monitoring Assistant will be reporting to the M&E Assistant & will be responsible for the below:

  • Daily operational updates.

  • Daily dispatch updates.

  • Daily trucks movement updates.

  • Daily update & monitoring of trucks movement security clearance & deconfliction.

  • Weekly achievement report.

Key competencies
  • High school certificate in a relevant discipline is required, a bachelors degree in any discipline is desired with 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Must be fluent in English & Arabic & must have good communication skills in both languages.

  • Candidates must be from the region they work in.

Required competencies:

  • Teamwork skills.

  • Flexible.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

  • Able to use IT computers & online applications.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Interpersonal skills.

Team management

This role has no team management responsibility.
