Mission and objectives

The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) supports the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) in Indonesia. As designated representative of the UN Secretary-General, RC leads and strategically positions the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in support of national priorities, development strategies, and plans. RCO coordinates activities related to common programming of UN in Indonesia. The support includes strategic planning, programme and operations management, policy guidance, data management and results reporting as well as knowledge management, advocacy, and communications – all seeking to enhance UN coherence and improve overall programme impact to better achieve development results. Under the leadership of the RC, the RCO is also implementing a wide range of initiatives to make the Leaving No-One Behind (LNOB) concept concrete and tangible, especially in the areas of youth, gender and disability inclusion. Context

The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) publishes a wide range of knowledge products (articles, studies, result reporting, guidance, etc.) on cross-cutting issues, especially in the areas of youth, gender, and disability inclusion. The knowledge products are published on various UN websites, newsletters, and social media accounts. To that end, RCO is looking into collaborating with online volunteer in producing the knowledge products showcasing and highlighting the cross-cutting issues related to youth, gender, and disability inclusion.

Task description

The expected result of this online volunteering assignment is to assist RCO in the publication of various types of text. Specific assistance to be provided by the online volunteers includes: 1. Draft and provide editorial support for RCO’s knowledge products. 2. Coordinate with relevant officers at RCO for editing and finalization of the text.
