ABOUT TALENT BEYOND BOUNDARIES

Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB) envisions a world where displaced people can safely migrate for work, using their skills to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. We are transforming skilled migration systems for refugees by removing barriers, creating new opportunities and rewriting the story of displacement. 

SCOPE OF ROLE

The Global CEO has overall responsibility for delivering plans and programs in accordance with TBB’s vision, mission and goals - with a focus on scaling labour mobility as a solution for those displaced from their home countries. The Global CEO is responsible for all TBB staff and resources globally and accountable to the TBB Global Board of Directors. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The CEO has the following duties:

  • Align TBB’s global strategy to the board vision and goals
  • Deliver the strategy, annual plans and annual budgets in line with goals and targets
  • Broker major strategic partnerships with donors, the business community, NGO/UN agencies and governments to advance TBB’s mission and seize strategic opportunities
  • Grow TBB's role as the thought leader on refugee labour mobility through effective representation of TBB’s work and cultivation of sophisticated knowledge management across the organization
  • Secure advocacy wins necessary to achieve TBB’s scaling goals, including transition from pilots to permanent refugee labour mobility programs
  • Increase fundraising success and focus in line with revenue targets
  • Maintain high performing team of leaders and staff, and mission-driven, high-impact and entrepreneurial culture
  • Ensure integrity and competent management of finances and risk
  • Other duties, as required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTITUDE

Essential

The CEO must:

  • Be capable of driving the TBB mission with personal passion and dedication 
  • Have demonstrated abilities as a strategic thinker, policy entrepreneur and innovative problem solver
  • Be able to see the big picture but also know when to dive into the detail
  • Excel at external representation, and be able to persuade and command respect among key stakeholders and audiences
  • Have demonstrated experience in senior strategic leadership roles and relevant financial management experience
  • Be a stellar fundraiser with a demonstrated ability to generate revenue in line with budget targets
  • Understand how to build great teams, and empower them to succeed 
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively and lead in a dynamic work environment

Desirable

  • Have expertise relevant to TBB’s mission and operating environment (including, for example, lived experience as a refugee or displaced person; experience working with global labor markets, global recruitment, humanitarian services, international development or migration systems)
