1. Project Background
The project aims to fulfil the business requirements of the Financial Accounting and Reporting team to assist in the design and implementation of various new systems of the Bank.
2. Objectives of the Assignment
The Accounting & Reporting Consultant (AR) is an integral part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Team in the Office of the Controller. The AR is primarily responsible to drive successful upstream system implementations and optimizations and ensure that the S/4Hana accounting system is also configured or enhanced to facilitate successful interfacing of data from upstream systems to the accounting system. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business processes, and experience in SAP system configuration/enhancement.
3. Scope of Services
The key responsibilities for the AR include but are not limited to: Cash Reconciliation and SWIFT integration with SAP general ledger system - Design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Cash reconciliation tool and the SWIFT integration with SAP general ledger system; - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translate them into effective S/4Hana financial accounting and reporting solutions; - Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing S/4Hana implementations, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business needs; - Prepare UAT test scenarios and scripts for testing; - Conduct rigorous unit and integration testing to validate the functionality and performance of systems; - Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and configuration guides; and - Stay current with Cash Reconciliation and SWIFT integration best practices and emerging trends to recommend and implement improvements. Accounting and Reporting Requirement and UAT Test scenarios in Treasury Management System - Prepare the take-away summary from the previous Proof of Concept process for Treasury Management System, and implications for CTL accounting and reporting; - Prepare the UAT test scenario and script for testing; - Conduct rigorous unit and integration testing to validate the functionality and performance of systems; - Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and configuration guides; and SAP S/4 Hana System Enhancement and Upgrade - Prepare UAT test scenarios and scripts for testings; - Conduct rigorous unit and integration testing to validate the functionality and performance of systems; and - Perform and evaluation of regression testing. Ad-hoc Financial Accounting and Reporting functions • Maintenance of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) process assigned to the team; • Perform periodic bank statement reconciliations, and identifying any financial gaps between accounting records and bank statements to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions; • Perform periodic cash transit general ledger accounts reconciliation and identify gaps in the cash transit accounts and timely investigation and resolving the identified gaps, if any; • Proactively resolving queries related to the SAP financial system with various departments and system vendors; • Identify areas for improvement/enhancement to the systems or business processes; • Participate in system enhancements and user testing; • Follow-up on internal control points raised by external and internal auditors and update status periodically; and • Undertake ad-hoc assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.

4. Consultancy Output / Deliverables
• Assignment / Consultant’s position title: Accounting & Reporting Consultant; • Type of Consultant: Level 1 Consultant; • Term of Engagement (duration of Assignment): April 2025 to December 2025; • 3 to 5 years of relevant practical experience working SAP FICO implementations, particularly within Cash Management/Treasury Services; • Strategic problem solver with sound knowledge in financial accounting and reporting; • Strong financial analysis skills. Knowledge of SAP is preferred; • A high level of personal integrity and a sense of accountability, and ability to work under tight deadlines; • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; • Proficient in verbal/written English. Proficient in verbal/written Chinese is advantageous; • Team player who can communicate for results; • Profound knowledge of financial business processes and accounting principles; and • CA or CPA of a reputable, internationally recognized accountancy body is a plus.

5. Implementation Arrangement
The Consultant will be required to work at the Bank’s headquarters in Beijing, China. The Consultant will be part of the Office of the Controller’s Financial Accounting and Reporting team and reports direct to the Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting team.

6. Support to the Consultant by the Bank
The Consultant will be provided with a Bank-issued laptop and log-in credentials will be created for the Consultant for his/her access to the S4/HANA accounting system and other collaborative platforms and/or systems used by the team (if required). Administrative support and office facilities will be provided to the Consultant when needed.
7. Knowledge Transfer and Training
Prior to completion of the contract, the Consultant is required to transfer his/her knowledge to Financial Accounting and Reporting team through training provided such requirement does not violate any law on intellectual property protection. Documentation of such knowledge transfer may be required of the Consultant to deliver prior to his/her departure from the Bank.
Qualification Requirement
Bachelor’s degree or above in related fields.
