The UNICEF Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) section within the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a Digital Data Analytics Specialist to carry out specific fundraising support for established and emerging markets in the ESA, ECA, LAC, EAP, and WCA regions. As part of the Digital Strategy of the mentioned regions, the Digital Data Analytics Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and accuracy of Web Analytics and for providing statistical and actionable insights for the digital fundraising teams. The Digital Data Analyst will support listed markets in improving digital performance through strong data analytics, integration, and reporting across platforms including GA4, paid media, and transactional data. This role focuses on data accuracy, insights extraction, testing and optimization of digital activities. The consultant will also build dashboards, validate data quality, and support data-driven decision-making to improve acquisition, retention, and long-term value through digital. This role will be critical for Country Offices, new markets, and Clusters to deliver tests and develop their digital plans and targets. The incumbent will work directly with the CODAS, PFP Teams, and Cluster and Country Office (CO) PSFR teams, as well as the digital agencies managing the digital activity.

PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:

How can you make a difference? 

SCOPE OF WORK:

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Market Development Manager, CODAS, the incumbent should:

  1. Support markets with digital data integration and reporting by combining website, paid media, and transactional data through SQL-based tools and Google platforms.
  2. Support accurate data collection and validation using GTM, GA4, and other digital tools.
  3. Generate actionable insights and support the testing roadmap to optimize acquisition and retention.
  4. Increase local capacity in GA4, CRO testing, and data interpretation for optimization.
  5. Ensure alignment with global data governance and campaign tracking standards.
  6. Customize and implement UNICEF’s global data products in ECA Cluster, WCA, ESA, and LAC regions.
  7. Enable advanced cloud-based automation and data transformation.
  8. Combine data sources to support fundraising optimization.

All digital campaigns implementing global naming conventions and UTM taxonomy. Tracking plans and documentation are delivered and embedded with the team. A complete UTM taxonomy and campaign naming convention framework has been implemented across all digital marketing activities in markets, in alignment with the ECA, ESA WCA, and LAC teams to ensure consistency in existing reporting. This includes alignment with UNICEF’s global standards, onboarding sessions conducted with internal stakeholders and agencies, provision of documentation and operational guidelines, and implementation support to ensure full adoption and accuracy in ongoing campaign tracking.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Education:

  • An Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or higher) in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, or another relevant field is required.
  • Alternatively, a first-level university degree with an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience will be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience as a digital analyst, data analyst, or similar role with a focus on digital performance.
  • Proven experience working with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery.
  • Demonstrated ability in SQL for data integration across sources (e.g., website, paid media, CRM/transactional).
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards in Looker Studio or other data visualization tools.
  • Strong ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in data collection and tracking setups (e.g., through GTM, data layer validation, matching rate checks).
  • Experience working with digital data to derive actionable insights that support marketing performance and optimize acquisition and retention.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience conducting CRO testing (e.g., A/B tests), including hypothesis building, execution, and statistical analysis using tools like Optimizely.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to explain complex data and tools (e.g., GA4, A/B testing concepts) to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with exporting data from ad platforms (e.g., Meta Ads) to Google Cloud for integration.
  • Familiarity with best practices for UTM tracking, naming conventions, and digital governance frameworks.

Experience Desired:

  • Experience with DataForm in BigQuery or other SQL-based workflow automation tools.
  • Understanding of third-party data limitations and experience implementing first-party data strategies, such as server-side tracking solutions to improve data quality and continuity across platforms.
  • Experience working with Salesforce (SF) and an understanding of CRM data integration.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
