Partnerships & Planning.

INTRODUCTION OF THE POST
Within the Executive Directorate Partnerships and Planning (EDPP), and as the central implementing entity for strategic partnerships across the organization, the Strategic Partnerships Directorate (SPD) is responsible for driving the development of high-level political outreach and partnerships with key stakeholders, including INTERPOL member countries, regional and international organizations, major strategic multilateral platforms and private sector entities, etc.
Under the guidance and supervision of the hierarchy, the incumbent will support the SPD in enabling INTERPOL to deliver its mandate by developing and sustaining multistakeholder strategic partnerships and securing voluntary contributions beyond statutory funding.
PRIMARY DUTIES
DUTY 1 - Partner relationship management
- Steward existing partner relations, acting as an ambassador for INTERPOL’s mission and strategic priorities, implementing rigorous stewardship processes with current and prospective partners.
- Prospect and cultivate new partnerships with international organizations, governments and private sector in alignment with SPD strategy and INTERPOL’s Strategic Framework.
- Work with relevant internal departments to coordinate and collaborate on partnership engagement activities at an organizational level.
- Consolidate and expand engagement with partner organizations to ensure political support for INTERPOL's operational priorities.
DUTY 2 - Strategic research and engagement
- Conduct research on assigned files as appropriate and particularly in the context of major international events/international meetings/partnership related events.
- Write reports on current trends geopolitical / diplomatic developments aligned with INTERPOL’s mission and strategic framework.
- Prepare memorandums, official correspondence and other strategic documents for hierarchy’s consideration.
- Attend INTERPOL meetings and conferences as well as external conferences and workshops as required.
- Provide final briefing materials, speeches, presentations, talking points, statements for missions, conferences, bi-lateral/multilateral meetings requiring SPD/EDPP participation.
DUTY 3 - Strategic partnership activities and organizational processes
- Monitor existing partnership opportunities, ensuring follow up and writing reports where necessary.
- Respond to requests and messages from partners appropriately.
- Network and collaborate with other organizations, where appropriate for benchmarking, sharing of best practice and new insights.
- Support with the organization of INTERPOL’s partnership events.
DUTY 4
- Perform any other duties as required by the hierarchy.
REQUIREMENTS

Education required
- Three-to-four years’ completed University education or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g. International Relations, International Politics, International/ Regional Studies, Public Policy, International Law, law enforcement, etc.
- A higher degree would be an advantage.
Experience required
- At least three years' experience working in strategic partnerships and /or external relations.
- Experience of working in an international or multicultural environment.
- Experience with law enforcement agencies.
Languages
- Fluency in the English language is required.
- Knowledge of a second working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.
Abilities required
- Ability to work in teams as well as individually.
- Excellent research skills.
- IT proficiency and strong skills in business intelligence, Internet research and MS Office processing software.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and with minimum supervision.
- Adaptability and capability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
Skills required
- Experience of working in collaboration with external (strategic) partners from relevant entities: governments, regional and international organizations, major strategic multilateral platforms and private sector entities.
- Excellent writer, able to communicate INTERPOL’s mission and value add to a variety of diverse audiences.
- Experience of following strategies as well as identifying and analysing problems and formulating appropriate solutions.
- Ability to exploit the internet and other open sources for the collation and analysis of open-source information.
