AIIB’s Portfolio Monitoring Department (PMD) is responsible formonitoring the Bank’s rapidly growing investment portfolio. As operations expand across regions and sectors, PMD is continually strengthening its data environment, refining metadata and reporting structures, and enhancing tools that support timely and reliable portfolio insights. These efforts underpin the Bank’s ability to deliver clear, consistent, and actionable monitoring information.
The Data Intern will contribute to this broader effort by supporting data organization, metadata improvement, and analytical activities that enhance PMD’s reporting and monitoring functions.
Responsibilities:
The intern will support the department through the following activities:
- Deliver Client engagement dashboard for IO by Power BI
- Assist in enhancements to client data model and data pipeline, including helping map field relationships, reviewing data flows, and identifying opportunities to improve data processes and reporting steps
- Support the development or enhancement of other dashboards and visual summaries that facilitate portfolio monitoring and internal reporting needs.
- Conduct research on data practices used by peer MDBs and international organizations, synthesizing insights on reporting approaches and metadata standards that may inform future enhancements to our data environment.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s, or PhD program in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience working with real-world datasets (through prior internships, part-time roles, corporate projects, or research assistantships) is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL and modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark, or similar environments) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Great team player.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
