Lebanon will introduce the HPV vaccine in 2026, following NITAG’s recommendation for a single-dose schedule for 10-year-old girls and a catch-up phase for older groups. While policy and financing preparations are in place, the programme must address local sensitivities around adolescent vaccination and ongoing vaccine hesitancy.
To support a smooth rollout, the focus is on SBC-CE efforts, including training frontline workers, engaging communities through partners, monitoring rumors and feedback, and providing technical support. Vaccination is set to begin in September 2026, led by the Ministry of Public Health with support from UNICEF and WHO.
