How can you make a difference?
The IT Intern will support the UNICEF Istanbul Office by providing technical assistance in maintaining IT assets, responding to user queries, and helping manage network systems. The intern will work closely with relevant teams for assisting in troubleshooting technical issues, identifying problems with digital tools (such as Microsoft 365) and platforms, monitoring IT inventory, and helping ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.
- Help Desk:
- Assist in providing first-level support for issues related to computers, printers, phones, and other IT equipment.
- Help troubleshoot common IT problems and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support in configuring and setting up new hardware or software for users.
- Assist in the use of office productivity tools like Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Event and Meeting Setup:
- Provide technical support for virtual meetings or events, ensuring proper setup of video conferencing equipment.
- Help with the preparation and setup of IT tools needed for presentations or training sessions.
- IT Asset Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, printers, and other office equipment.
- Help with the preparation and distribution of IT equipment to new staff, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Support inventory checks and help keep the IT asset system up to date.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree program—preferably in computer science or a related field—or have graduated within the past two years.
- Be fluent in English, with strong writing skills. Additionally, fluency in local language and another official and working language of the UN would be an asset.
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance as evidenced by recent university or institutional records.
- Preferably reside in Istanbul.

Stipend: In accordance to UNICEF's guidelines, interns will be paid a nominal stipend per month. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.
Insurance:
UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern's service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work. If accepted, the intern will be required to provide a copy of health insurance coverage and to fill out the relevant UNICEF forms on conditions regarding service as an intern.
UNICEF does not hire candidates who are married to children (persons under 18). UNICEF has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the United Nations and UNICEF, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination based on gender, nationality, age, race, sexual orientation, religious or ethnic background or disabilities. UNICEF is committed to promote the protection and safeguarding of all children. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks, and will be expected to adhere to these standards and principles.
